From the quotation to the delivered small series fully automatically … that is EGU-Metall‘s daily business. Sebastian Gruber has consistently trimmed his company to maximum productivity with minimum labour input using hardware and software with the solutions and interfaces from WiCAM.
The FAB PPS/ERP system from Armbruster is the starting point. Here, customers are managed, enquiries are created, automatic calculations are made, quotations are created and production forecasts are generated.
When the order is triggered, the parts to be produced are transferred to the shift planning and transferred unmanned to the laser machine with fully automatic storage via the RCI interface. The produced nestings are returned to the Stopa warehouse, digitally reported as finished and removed for further processing at the sorting table during the day shift. Any residual sheets or small remnants are written to the PN4000’s sheet database – and automatically nested and reloaded with the next suitable order.
Sebastian Gruber: “Depending on the incoming orders, we can switch from relaxed one-shift to unmanned three-shift operation with guaranteed deadlines at the click of a mouse. We are only limited by cutting speed, storage capacity, space or follow-up operations.”
Controlled machines:
Over the past years, EGU-Metall has tried out CNC punching and laser machines from a wide range of manufacturers. Space allocation for machines is always an issue at EGU: “We strive for technology and efficiency growth, class instead of mass. Our machines have to fit us and our current product range … and this is where WiCAM has given us the freedom for 20 years to go our way with the optimal machine in each case, independent of manufacturer and technology.”
